Winter storm hits northern Utah: Significant snow possible

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the mountains of northern and central Utah, the mountain valleys of northern Utah and portions of the northern Wasatch Front.

Additionally, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for portions of Salt Lake, Tooele and Utah counties.

Snow moved in Thursday afternoon/evening and will continue off and on through Saturday.

The snow will change to rain for much of Friday and Saturday in Salt Lake and Utah counties but will remain snow on benches, mountain valleys and most valley locations in the northern Wasatch Front.
