DRAPER, Utah — Thousands of runners of all ages started their Thanksgiving morning bracing themselves against the cold and dressing a little silly to help the Utah Food Bank.

The 11th annual 5 and 10K Utah Human Race was a major success, especially considering Wednesday night’s snowstorm.

Event organizers say they are grateful people choose to give back during the holiday.

“You know folks come and they have a great time, and they want to come back,” said Ginette Bott, chief development officer for the Utah Food Bank. “When we started 11 years ago I think there was maybe one neighborhood race happening besides us, now there are 12 races for people to choose from, lots of opportunities, so we certainly appreciate them joining us today.”
