Jessie Shepherd, LCMHC from Blue Clover Therapy shared insight into why we lie.
Loving Lies versus Big Fat Lies.
`Loving Lies`: things parents say that they emotionally believe but on a rational level may not be accurate.
'Big Fat Lies': things parents say that they know is inaccurate.

Why we need to stop:
Children model behaviors from us and will mimic what we do all the way into adulthood. We will pass down dishonesty. If we want honest kids, we need to be honest.
Why we lie:
Self doubt and Insecurities.
-The lies are about us.
How to stop:
-Accept yourself & your parenting style.
-No one is perfect.
