  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1¼ cup milk
  • 1 large egg

3 tablespoons butter, divided

  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup

1/2 cup Nutella creamy or crunchy spread

In large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and egg; stir together.

Heat griddle or 12-inch skillet up to medium heat; brush lightly with butter. Pour batter (1/4 cup at a time) onto hot griddle, making a few pancakes. Cook until tops are bubbly, 1-2 minutes, flip and cook on the other side 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to platter; keep warm. Repeat with remaining batter, brushing griddle with more butter before cooking pancakes.

For the Nutella Syrup, in a microwave-safe bowl, combine honey or maple syrup and Nutella. Microwave for 30 seconds, remove from microwave, and stir. Microwave 30 seconds longer, and stir until completely combined. Serve desired amount over pancakes.

Makes 12 pancakes.

Note: Top with whipped cream, fresh fruit and nuts, if desired.
