Paris Gustin, 16, was shot and killed in the Rose Park area in July, and his mother said her child was killed after he and his friends were out throwing eggs at cars.

“One of the vehicles that were egged ended up chasing the vehicle that Paris and his friends were in, at some point someone in that vehicle began shooting,” said Sgt. Brandon Shearer with the Salt Lake City Police Department earlier this year.

Wednesday, the Salt Lake City Police Department said they are looking for 22-year-old Martin Antonio Cruz, who they said is a person of interest in the killing of Gustin.

Cruz, pictured above, is described as a Hispanic male who is 22-years-old. The man stands 6-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs 158 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who sees Cruz or who has knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to call SLC PD at 801-799-3000. “Anonymous tips may be sent by text to 274637. Please start your text with TIPSLCPD, which routes it to the police department. Then include any relevant information. Reference: case #16-120239. ”

Police previously identified two other persons of interest. As of Wednesday they said Jonathan Ivan Padilla-Lopez has been cleared. Police are still seeking 22-year-old Fortunata Nato Villagrana for questioning.
