BOUNTIFUL, Utah — Family of Annie Schmidt have announced details on public memorial services for Annie, and they also posted a link to the last song she wrote with her brother before she passed away.

Schmidt, a Utah woman who moved to Portland earlier this year, was found dead near the bottom of a cliff in Oregon weeks after she went hiking and was reported missing. Her story attracted national attention, in part because her father, Jon, is a member of the music group The Piano Guys.

Jon Schmidt posted memorial service details on a Facebook page set up during the search effort. The post also includes a link to “Don’t Worry Darling”, which is a song Annie wrote with a sibling before leaving on a religious mission several years ago.

A public reception will be held at the Bountiful Utah Heights Stake Chapel at 33 North Moss Hill Drive in Bountiful on Sunday November 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21 at 11 a.m. at the same location, and there will be a public reception from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral.

Schmidt states, “In lieu of flowers donations for search related costs may be sent to: The El Nino Foundation-Annie 680 North 1100 East Bountiful, Utah 84010.”

The post regarding funeral details also includes an obituary and expressions of gratitude toward a long list of people and organizations who helped during the search.

Family members said Annie loved music and hoped to perform and produce in the future. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Macon, Georgia.

The obituary states in part: “Annie was 100% authentic and real. She had a passion for people, self-discovery, learning, nature, surfing, long boarding, discovering great music, unique foods, and dancing. She would demonstrate her sweet hip hop moves anywhere anytime. Her final message to the world was: Fill your life with good vibes.”
