Jessica Roadman from Crossroads Urban Center shared some tips on helping the homeless this Thanksgiving. What is Crossroads? Crossroads runs the busiest emergency food pantry in Utah. We provide 3-day supplies of food to individuals and families in need. We are open Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM, so we can be available to people on a regular basis. Crossroads also runs a small Thrift Store at 1385 W. Indiana Ave. Although we do sell some items, the majority of what is donated is given out to our neighbors in need at no cost.

Each year, Crossroads hosts a Thanksgiving Give Away where we provide turkeys and all of the sides needed for a full holiday meal to anyone in need. The only requirement is to bring a form of identification with name and date of birth for each member of the family. It will be held at the Urban Indian Center (120 W 1300S) Wed., Nov 23 from 10AM-3:30PM. If you or someone you know is short on food this holiday, please come see us at our Give Away.
This year Crossroads is celebrating our 50th year of supporting Utahns in need. We have been a part of this community for many years and we remain mostly supported by individual donations. Our generous community is what allows us to continue helping others. There are 2 ways you can help right now:

1. Harmons generously donates the turkeys to our giveaway. Now through Nov 24th, buy a $5 or $10 turkey gift certificate while you`re checking out at Harmons to provide a turkey for a family in need.

2. As the chill of the winter sets in and the state of overflow winter shelters uncertain, there will certainly be more people sleeping on the street this year. Over half of the clients we see live on the street. Help them stay alive this winter by donating warm clothes to our Thrift Store. These clothes will go directly to those in need at no cost to them.
