DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah -- Authorities are seeking the public's help locating a suspect connected to alleged abductions and a possible homicide in Duchesne County, and family members say the suspect is the son of the deceased man.

The incident started at about 7 p.m. Friday when two people claimed they were kidnapped at gunpoint from a residence north of Roosevelt City by 34-year-old James Main Jr.

Main then took the alleged abductees to a home in Roosevelt, according to a press release from Duchesne County Sheriff's Office.

The release states a struggle ensued between the two individuals and a third person. The suspect allegedly fired a shot at the victims before fleeing in a vehicle.  The car was later found in north Duchesne County. However, Main was not located.

During the initial stages of the investigation, the release states, deputies discovered the body of a 56-year-old man at his home in west Duchesne County. Cause of death has not been released, but authorities are investigating it as a homicide.

The family of the deceased have identified him as James Main Sr., and they say he was found shot to death. Family members begged Main Jr. to turn himself in Saturday.

"We love you and we care about you, and we know you made a bad mistake, but we just want you to come home and get a hold of one us please," said Lacey Peterson, Main Jr.'s cousin. "We're worried sick, and mom loves you: We all love you."

Officials believe there is a connection between the abductions by Main and the man's death.

The sheriff's office office and Roosevelt City Police are now seeking information on the whereabouts of Main. They believe he is driving a 2000 white Ford F-250 with an extended cab truck with a winch hoist in the back.

The License plate number is A020NK.

Anyone who sees Main should use caution and call Central Dispatch at 435-722-4558.

A fundraising account has been set up to help pay for funeral expenses for Main Sr.
