SALT LAKE CITY -- Fall is here, and it's not all pumpkin spice and changing colors.

It's the peak of spider season, and some Utahns say this year they're seeing more of the creepy crawlers than they have in years.

They're hiding in the dark corners of your house. Scurrying behind the couch and clinging onto the ceiling above your bed.

“This time of year we see more spiders than anything else,” said Adam Hirchak, a technician for Beeline Pest Control.

Beeline Pest Control is busier than ever, working to get rid of unwanted visitors in homes across Utah.

“We’ve just been getting more spider calls, a lot more people have been struggling with spider issues,” Hirchak said.

While homeowners are struggling with rise in eight-legged stowaways, they're taking to social media.

Chelsea Oram posted on Facebook: "I found this on my pillow today. The same pillow I sleep on every night. The same pillow my 3 year olds were sitting next to not even 5 min earlier. In my motherly rage I killed it. Thoroughly."

Joy Cooper Bouchard's post is even more distributing: "pulled this sucker out of my baby’s mouth… worst experience of my life!!!! I hate spiders."

Grossing out arachnophobes and even the technicians.

“I’ve gotten pretty good at not showing it, keeping my cool, you know what I mean?” Hirchak said.

“We saw black widows in the basement, the garage was full of them,” said Jeff Dent, a homeowner in Sandy.

Jeff Dent is the designated spider catcher in his household.

“It’s my job and I use a vacuum; I don’t like messes,” Dent said.

He says this year more spiders are creeping around.

“They seem like they’re bigger than historically as well, for whatever reason,” Dent said.

One person posted bites from the spider. Tamelia Catteneo wrote on Facebook: "I’ve been getting those like CRAZY in my house the past month or so."

Megan Whittaker said: "I agree with this. They have been terrible this year."

The big question here is, why? Some experts say it's because of the warmer weather patterns we've had over the years, and now that it's cooling down more spiders are creeping inside.

The good news is it's not too late to spray or do something about it, but the bad news is that it is more effective to do so earlier in the year.
