Police looking for father who left 5-year-old daughter alone overnight on Ogden campus

OGDEN, Utah — Police are looking for the father of the 5-year-old girl who was left aloneon an Ogden college campus overnight in early October.

Campus surveillance video showed 41-year-old Adrian Justin Sanchez leaving his child with a few blankets on the Ogden Weber Applied Technology College at 200 N. Washington Blvd on October 9th. The young girl was wearing pajama leggings, shoes and a shirt, police said.

Ogden police said the Ogden Police Special Victim Unit and Family Services were notified and began an investigation.

The girl was placed in her mother’s care.

Video evidence showed the girl was left by her father around 5:00 a.m. A security guard found the child at 7:30 a.m. when the temperature was 39 degrees.

The young girl told investigators that she didn’t know why her father left and he said he would be back. She also said she yelled to him as he walked away but he never stopped and didn’t return, authorities said.
