MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. – A semi carrying pigs overturned on I-15 in the Virgin River Gorge Monday, pouring the pork onto the roadway.

The swine were swerving through traffic just south of the Cedar Pocket rest area.

The Arizona Highway Patrol was able to round up all the animals and reopened all lanes overnight.

The St. George News reports the driver told authorities he felt his truck lift into the air and then it crashed into a barrier.

That tore open the truck’s trailer, sending the pigs onto the pavement.

The driver was not hurt but a few of the pigs did not survive.
