SOUTH OGDEN, Utah -- An 11-year-old boy has been found safe and a 37-year-old man has been arrested after an Amber Alert was issued out of South Ogden Monday afternoon.

The alert was issued for the boy, who authorities say went missing out of South Ogden Sunday night. The child was found safe Monday afternoon at a Best Buy in Murray and the suspect, Weston Kubbe, was taken into custody.

"I feel very fortunate my son is alive. I thought he was a goner -- he very well could have been," said Clark, the boy's father.

FOX 13 News put out the name of the child and his picture when the Amber Alert was active. Since its cancellation, we have chosen to not to continue to name the boy.

We are also only using the first name of the 11-year-old's father to protect the child's identity.

Clark said he woke up Monday morning and went to get his son up for school. Instead of finding his son, he found a note.

"I found a note on his pillow that said something to the effect of I love you and I appreciate everything you've done for me. I'm safe and I'll be back pretty soon, unless you call 911 then I won't be back," Clark recalled.

He said the note was in his son's handwriting, but it felt like it had been coached.

Clark called police. With the family's consent, police searched computers and zeroed on a suspect, 37-year-old Weston Kubbe of Murray.

"Every time we get into something like this it is so dynamic," said Sgt. Will Dehart with South Ogden Police Department.

Police were tracking the victim's cellphone. It was turned off but would come on intermittently to send a text or other message. They ended up finding the victim at the Best Buy near 5300 South State Street.

A few blocks away, at his home, they found Kubbe.

Kubbe's neighbors, who did not want to be identified, said he lives alone and it is not unusual to see kids at his house.

"I kept telling him you're going to get in trouble, you're going to get in trouble it don't look right," said someone who lives in the neighborhood.

Kubbe was arrested on charges including kidnapping, enticing by text and aggravated sexual abuse.
