PROVO, Utah — A Utah man faces 15 felony charges after he allegedly sent pictures of child pornography and tried to arrange a tryst with an Internet Crimes Against Children investigator who he believed was a 13-year-old girl.

Dusty Rae Serbeck, 19, faces a second-degree felony charge of enticing a minor, 10 third-degree felony charges of dealing in materials harmful to a minor and four second-degree felony charges of sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to a probable cause statement, Serbeck was arrested on August 11 at a park in Provo, where he planned to pick up a 13-year-old girl and take her back to her residence to have sex.

The statement indicates Serbeck had been engaging in online chat sessions with the “girl,” which quickly turned sexual in nature. Serbeck is accused of sending naked pictures and videos of himself, along with a picture of an underage girl, during some of the alleged chat sessions.

Police said Serbeck waived his Miranda rights and admitted to engaging in the chat sessions, sending the pornographic images and making arrangements to meet the girl for sex.

In one of the chat sessions, the ICAC investigator asked Serbeck to bring an energy drink, condoms and lubricant for their meetup. Police said they found those items in Serbeck’s car after he was arrested.

Serbeck is the son of David Serbeck, who was convicted on three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a 16 or 17-year-old girl in 2012.
