WEST JORDAN, Utah — A patio fire sparked overnight at a West Jordan town-home.

The fire started at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at 6634 West 8400 South.

When firefighters arrived to the home the patio was fully engulfed in flames.

West Jordan Fire Battalion Chief Bryan Crump said firefighters had to force entry into the home to extinguish flames.

Investigators said the residents were not home when the fire started. A neighbor called authorities after she heard fire alarms and smelled smoke, Crump said.

Officials said there is up to $20,000 in damage to the structure.

Investigators are still working to investigate the cause of the fire. Check back with Fox 13 for the latest updates.
