SALT LAKE CITY - Salt Lake City police continue to search for a man they consider armed and dangerous after the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man at an apartment complex Saturday night.

At about 9 p.m., authorities responded to Sky Harbor Apartments, 1900 W. North Temple, on reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered Eric Padilla had been shot in the head at point-blank range.

Police say Padilla was at the apartment to visit a friend when he answered a knock at the door. After what authorities say appears to have been a brief conversation, the teen was shot in the head.

He died on scene.

The suspect is described as a Latino man wearing dark clothing.

Authorities say the suspect fled the scene and has not been seen since. While police search for the individual they're also investigating a motive in this murder.

Anyone with information regarding this case and the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Salt Lake City police at  801-799-3000.
