SALT LAKE CITY -- Thousands of fans are expected in Salt Lake City Saturday for the rivalry match-up between the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, and transportation officials are taking extra steps to reduce the congestion.

The Utah Department of Transportation is bringing in more traffic engineers for the day to ensure a better traffic flow, and they plan to focus on speeding up transit on main roads near the stadium, like Foothill Boulevard and 400 South.

For folks planning on taking public transportation, those with a ticket to the game can ride UTA transit for free, including the FrontRunner train from Provo. There will be additional TRAX trains and buses dedicated to delivering passengers to and from Rice-Eccles Stadium.
