SALT LAKE CITY -- They may be used to flames, but not this kind of heat.

Sixteen firefighters stripped down for the 2017 Utah Firefighter Calendar, and Friday evening was the big reveal.

Among them was Jayson Romney with the West Valley Fire Department, and he said he's been getting endless comments from his coworkers.

"The fire department, of course they’re pretty hostile, so I get to hear it every day," Romney said.

Romney and Conner Devoogd, with the Unified Fire Department, both agree they'd rather be in a burning home.

"It's a lot more fun I think, less intimidating," Devoogd said.

However, they agreed to the project because it's for a good cause. All the money raised from these calendars goes to the American Cancer Society. That's what fanned the flames for Romney, after seeing a friend fight the disease.

"I got to sit though one of his chemo sessions with him and just talk, and realized I'm kind of helpless as a friend, but here we are, just got an email saying we could help out with the American Cancer Society," he said.

Even while other ladies ooh and ahh, Devoogd's girlfriend, Madison Shingleton, doesn't mind.

"That's mine, right. I get to claim him," Shingleton said.

Romney's wife, Amanda, expressed the same sentiment.

"Uh, he’s all mine," she said.
