MIDVALE, Utah – Unified Fire crews have put out a fire at a Midvale home for the second time in less than a week.

Authorities said the house at 500 E. and 7500 S. also caught fire last Friday.

At that time, tenants were living there but it is now vacant.

“The fire came in just after 5 a.m.,” Unified Fire Chief Mike Watson said. “This fire or this home burned last Friday evening as well. This is a rental property. The tenants weren’t home. They’re not living in it anymore and the fire started in a completely different area.”

When crews arrived, flames were coming from the living room.

Unified Fire said the burn is suspicious; authorities found drug paraphernalia inside.

Investigators are working to determine what sparked the fire.

No one was injured.
