UTAH COUNTY, Utah — Family and friends welcomed home a 4-year-old girl Monday, 29 days after she lost her leg in the blades of lawn mower.

Brailey Partida’s family released a statement that the young girl still had a “long road ahead but is making great progress.”

On Aug. 1, Brailey was on a riding lawn mower with her grandmother when she fell off. She lost her right leg below the knee when it got caught in the blades.

She was taken to Primary Children’s Medical Center for treatment, where she underwent surgeries.

The family states they will continue to care for her wound from home and once she is healed they will begin working on rehabilitation.

“We are eagerly looking forward to when we can get her fitted for a leg,” the family states. “We are so thankful for all the love, support, and prayers from our family, community, and all medical personnel who have been such a blessing to have aided in Brailey’s recovery.”
