FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — A body found floating on the surface of a North Carolina lake has been identified as the remains of a missing middle school teacher, according to WGHP.

The body of 23-year-old Krishawn Jamar Noble was found at about 6:30 p.m. Friday at Kernersville Lake Park, according to Forsyth County Chief Deputy Brad Stanley.

Family members found Noble’s body while searching the lake in paddle boats, according to authorities.

On Thursday, deputies said they were asked to make contact with Noble after he didn’t show up for work. Noble was scheduled to begin his new career as a first-year teacher at East Forsyth Middle School this year.

Shortly afterward, deputies say Noble rented a boat at Kernersville Lake Park. At about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, that boat came to rest on a bank of the lake and Noble was nowhere to be found.

Some of his personal belongings, as well as his car, were found. The discovery of the boat prompted an all-out ground and water search.

A cause of death has not been released pending an autopsy by the medical examiner.
