Las Vegas (KVVU) -- While the Las Vegas Raiders are far from playing a down in the desert, the Las Vegas Raiders trademark appears to be alive with the NFL team's ownership.

A search of the U.S. Patent and Trademark office database showed the Oakland Raiders L.P. filed for three trademarks related to Las Vegas Raiders. The filing date was marked for August 20, 2016.

In the filing, the Las Vegas Raiders trademark would be used for multiple items of merchandise, including souvenirs, trading cards, novelties and clothing. In addition, the trademark would also be used for items of education and information, including mobile applications, programs and DVDs.

Six other trademarks for Las Vegas Raiders were also filed from earlier this year, but none were filed by the team.

The trademark filing came days before a scheduled meeting to discuss locations for a possible stadium and its financing package. As it stands, the stadium, which would also serve as a home for UNLV Rebels football, would be built with $750 million coming from hotel tax revenue. All told, the cost of the stadium totals $1.9 billion, with contributions also coming from the Sands Corporation, NFL and the Raiders.
