CLEARFIELD, Utah – A wanted man is in the hospital and will soon be headed to jail after he led police on a high-speed chase while on a stolen motorcycle Tuesday night.

Police in Davis County said an officer spotted the man speeding and driving recklessly, so the officer attempted a traffic stop.

The suspect fled, reaching speeds of more than 90 miles per hour, but the chase didn’t last long and ended in a crash in the area of 400 South and 1000 East in Clearfield.

Police say the motorcycle was stolen, and the suspect had other motivations to flee.

“He also has several warrants for his arrest, a couple no-bails and a $20,000 warrant,” explained Deputy Ryan Trease of the Davis County Sheriff’s Office. “He was also found in possession of narcotics.”

The suspect was taken to a hospital via ground ambulance with moderate injuries. He will be booked into the Davis County Jail after he is treated.

Police have not yet identified the suspect.
