Miguel Rovira with Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, a company that, along with University of Utah Health Care, makes this wellness-focused week possible visited the studio with Chef Andrew Young. They shared some health tips for eating.

• What`s on our plate plays a big part in our overall health, energy level, mental focus and mood.
• A common misperception is that healthy cooking and proper diets are too time-consuming, too expensive and generally, not worth worrying about.
o Make it taste good... use fresh/local to avoid need for unhealthy add-ins
o Involve kids in the process: selecting recipes, shopping, preparing the dish, and then taking the time to enjoy the 'fruits of your labor' together.
o Don`t bad talk good food
• Incremental healthy decisions vs. extreme diets doomed to fail (& intimidating)... subtle changes are better than none.
• A first step can be trying new approaches to make vegetables, whole grains, and other wholesome ingredients, as accessible and appealing as possible. Focusing attention on small daily changes and choices that can improve health.
o Visit the Regence booth at a Be Well event and grab one of our recipe cards for more fun ideas!
