SALT LAKE CITY – Utahns were pounding the pavement for a good cause Saturday at the Dash for Donations event.
Runners and walkers not only raised money for the cause, but they also raised awareness about the importance of registering to become an organ donor.
According to Intermountain Donor Services, an average of 81 transplants take place every day in the United States.
Many of the participants at Saturday’s event have personal experiences related to organ donation.
“It’s just awesome, it’s just awesome to be a part of it,” Linda Walker said. “I’m a recipient of two corneas and so that changed my life completely, so to be able to help people change their lives is just amazing for all of us.”
