HURRICANE, Utah — A 20-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly vandalized a school, a park and an auto parts store in Hurricane.

Kade S. Pendleton is accused of leaving graffiti at Hurricane Middle School, Hall Park, and an auto parts store, according to Sgt. Brandon Buell of the Hurricane City Police Department.

The graffiti was noticed Aug. 16, and on the same day, officers stopped a motorist who matched a suspect on security camera video.  Officers searched the man’s vehicle and located drugs, drug paraphernalia, and items used in doing graffiti, Sgt. Buell said.

Hurricane detectives continued to investigate the case and located enough evidence to charge Pendleton with three counts of graffiti and two counts of trespassing, Sgt. Buell said. A posting on the Washington County Sheriff’s Office website also shows Pendleton faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of paraphernalia, drug possession and littering material on the highway.

The investigation is continuing and detectives are looking at other suspects according to a news release from the Hurricane City Police Department.
