PROVO, Utah — A paraglider suffered multiple injuries after crashing just below Squaw Peak Overlook, Tuesday afternoon.

The victim, identified as a man in his 30s, took off from the top of the overlook at about 3:12 p.m. While in flight, the man picked up a wind gust that pushed him back into the peak, causing him to crash, said Capt. Dean York with Provo Fire and Rescue.

The paraglider suffered several injuries but was in stable condition. He was airlifted to Intermountain Medical Center.

Responding agencies were Utah County Search and Rescue, Life Flight and Provo Fire and Rescue.
