BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A man was stabbed by his adult son during a church service in Kentucky Sunday morning, and witnesses report an associate pastor tackled the suspect after the attack.

WBKO in Kentucky reports the assault occurred at Hillvue Heights Church during the 9:30 a.m. service, right before the altar call was given.

Police confirm 21-year-old Ethan Buckley of Bowling Green stabbed his father. Members of the congregation said father and son both filled out first time visitor cards at the church and said they had traveled in from Arkansas.

The father who was stabbed was taken by ambulance to a local hospital in an unknown condition.

Buckley was taken to the Warren County Regional Jail after he was interviewed by police, and he was booked on charges of assault and domestic violence.

Witnesses reported seeing a lot of blood and said the scene was one of complete chaos. There were no other injuries reported.
