CLEARFIELD, Utah -- North Davis Fire crews put out a fire at Clearfield High School Thursday morning.

Just before 1 a.m., about 30 firefighters were called to the blaze at the 53-year-old high school.

Officials said the flames never entered the main building and were contained to the roof.

The school does not have a sprinkler system.

North Davis Fire Chief Mark Becraft said the area where the fire started is under construction.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.

School starts August 24.
