MAGNA, Utah — A Magna man has been arrested after he allegedly impersonated a police officer.

On July 30, police received a report of a man who allegedly used red and white lights to stop a vehicle on a public road in Magna.

Police said 27-year-old Adnan Pandur pointed a gun at three of the four victims inside the car and demanded all passengers exit the vehicle.

According to a probable cause statement, Pandur detained the four individuals, stating he was a police officer and that “he was making sure everyone was safe on the roadway.”

Pandur then went back to his vehicle and the victims were able to take a photo of his license plate, the probable cause statement said. Police contacted Pandur at his home, where he was detained and questioned.

Magna police said they read Pandur his Miranda rights, and he later admitted to officers he was involved in an altercation at the scene, and that he told the victims he was an officer.

Pandur was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail.  He faces a third-degree felony charge of aggravated assault, a Class B misdemeanor charge of impersonation of an officer and a Class B misdemeanor charge of unlawful detention.
