PHILADELPHIA -- Utah's delegates to the Democratic National Convention had a morning meeting with the man who won more than 79 percent of the Utah Caucus vote in March, Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
"You gotta look at corporate greed and the role of Wall Street," Sanders told the delegation in a crowded hotel ballroom.
Sanders told the delegates he would continue to fight for the causes at the center of his presidential campaign, most notably declining wages for the American middle class.
"Why is it that male workers are making hundreds of dollars in real inflation-accounted-for dollars, hundreds of dollars less than they made 40 years ago? Women workers making substantially less than they made in 2007?" Sanders asked.
His answer: "Eighty five percent of all new income being generated today is going to the top one percent."
But Sanders message was two-fold, telling the left-leaning Utahns their first fight is against the Republican Nominee, and then they will continue their work on financial justice.
"My fear about Donald Trump is that he is a demagogue who does not believe in the Constitution of the United States, who is making the cornerstone of his campaign not economics, not health, but bigotry and hatred," Sanders said.
