The Pokemon Go craze has been sweeping the world, and a video shot in New York City Thursday night captured a crowd of players all rushing toward Central Park after a highly sought-after Pokemon appeared.

According to the description of the YouTube video, the “stampede” occurred around 11 p.m. local time Friday as hundreds were gathered around the edge of Central Park to play the popular augmented reality game.

The game relies on phones’ GPS capabilities, and different Pokemon spawn in different locations. Players must physically move to within a certain range to capture each Pokemon.

Some of the digital monsters are more desirable than others, as the video above illustrates. The man who shot the video said it all began when a Vaporeon appeared in the park and the folks rushed toward the spot.

As the crowd crosses the street, one man even appears to exit his car and leave the engine running as he moves to capture the coveted creature.
