MAGNA, Utah - Unified Police are investigating a murder-suicide in Magna after relatives, including children, found a man stabbed to death in their home.

Officers said at about 8 p.m. Tuesday, 35-year-old Jared Groves got into a fight with his next-door neighbor, 38-year-old David Perea.

The argument got heated and detectives said Groves chased Perea inside his own home where Groves stabbed him to death.

Then Groves ran to his brother's house, not far from where there was a party.

There officers said he attacked his own brother before Unified Police arrived.

After an alternation with officers where he was tazed, Groves took his own life.

While officers were investigating that incident, they were called to a home near 2651 S. Twain Dr. where family members found Perea dead.

Fox 13 spoke to Groves' family members, including the brother who was attacked, and they said he was a good man who had been recently suffering from depression and other mental health issues.

They said they are sad about his passing and also about the life he took.
