SALT LAKE CITY- It's a sight becoming more and more common around town. Thousands of people walking around, with their head down looking straight at their phones.

“You got the people who are secretly playing it and then you got the people that look right at their phone," said Devin Callaway, a Sugar House Park goer.

Callaway is describing the behaviors of people playing the new hit game Pokemon-Go. The game takes Pokemon characters first made famous back in the 1990s and puts them in a free downloadable game app for your smart phone.

The goal of the game?

"You got to catch them all!" said one player. "You got to see how many Pokemon you can catch."

The game works in tandem with your Google Maps to place Pokemon all around town. To locate the Pokemon, you look at the map and go to the places where the Pokemon are placed.

Once you get to the location, a Pokemon will show up on your phone, automatically activating your phone's camera.

"You see the Pokemon appear on your camera screen," said another player. "It's bizarre because they can be sitting on your car or at your desk at work. It's combining real world with the video world."

As you collect more Pokemon, you advance further in the game.

As thousands continue to play it throughout the country, Nintendo, the makers of the game, warn to keep your head up and to be safe, reminding players to look out for cars and traffic.
