LAYTON, Utah — Several days after police asked the public for help locating a suspect who allegedly stole purses from two young girls, the man was booked into jail.
According to the Layton City Police Department, the suspect was arrested Saturday night and booked into the Davis County Jail. Authorities expressed gratitude for the tips they received in the case.
Shane Allen Bodily, 46, was booked on charges including theft, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The man had allegedly stolen two purses from a shopping cart in the Wal-Mart in Layton. One victim was a 6-year-old girl and the other a 7-year-old girl. There was approximately $12.00 between the two purses. Police stated on Facebook they were not able to recover the stolen property.
