NEVADA — Legislation that went into effect July 1 means those with concealed carry weapon permits from Utah can now carry a concealed weapon in Nevada.

According to a post from the Mesquite Police Department, the state of Nevada will honor CCW permits from Utah as long as the permit holder is 21 years of age or older. The rule applies to visitors to the state as well as residents.

Those who have CCW permits from other states and who live in Nevada must apply for a permit from Nevada, and the post from Mesquite PD states a person with an out of state CCW has 60 days after becoming a resident to obtain that permit.

Included in the post is a list of several states that Nevada will now recognize CCW permits from. That list and other information is also available via the Nevada Department of Public Safety’s website.
