SALT LAKE CITY — Crews responded to the area near Smith’s Ballpark Saturday night after a fireworks display apparently sparked a fire, which was quickly extinguished.
FOX 13 News’ Kiersten Nuñez tweeted an image of the smoke and flames visible at the ballpark. The Salt Lake Bees scheduled fireworks displays for two games this weekend in conjunction with Independence Day.
Jasen Asay, Salt Lake City Fire Department, said crews responded to a fire in a dumpster, which they quickly extinguished. He said while the exact cause is unknown, they believe the fire was a result of the fireworks.
