OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland City Council vote to ban the transportation of coal is affecting Utah.
The proposed terminal at the city’s port would serve as a gateway for coal from Utah to be sent to Asia.
Opponents are concerned it would have detrimental effects to the environment.
Supporters say it would bring more jobs to the area.
