SALT LAKE CITY -- Delta Air Line pilots participated in informational picketing at the Salt Lake City International Airport Friday morning.

The pilots engaged in the picketing in hopes to raise the sense of urgency in ongoing negotiations regarding a new contract agreement according to a press release from the Air Line Pilots Association.

Five months have passed since the contract's amendable date and 15 months of negotiation have gone on.

Delta Air Line pilots believe Delta management and the Board of Directors need to recognize the rising market for pilots and bring negotiations to a conclusion.

The press release sent to FOX 13 states "Delta recorded a historic pre-tax income of $1.56 billion-- nearly triple from the first quarter of 2015; the previous historic high for Delta."

Salt Lake City is just one of eight airports in the nation that Delta pilots to partake in the informational picketing.
