SB Redwood Road reopens after police response near 2700 South

WEST VALLEY CITY -- The Utah Department of Transportation states police activity caused a closure of southbound lanes of Redwood Road near 2700 South in West Valley City Sunday, but the road was reopened about an hour later.

UDOT first reported the closure just before 2:30 p.m.

While there is no official confirmation from authorities regarding the nature of the situation, photo and video captured from the scene appears to show someone sitting on top of a pedestrian bridge above the roadway.

Around 3:45 p.m., FOX 13 crews at the scene observed the individual climbing down from his perch atop the the bridge. Authorities at the scene said the road would be reopening shortly.
