LOS ANGELES — Two people were killed after a light airplane crashed into an apartment building near Hawthorne Airport in the Los Angeles area Friday.
KTLA reportsthe crash occurred around 5:12 p.m. local time in the 4600 block of West Broadway.
Citing Los Angeles County Fire Department, KTLA reports two people aboard the aircraft were killed and no injuries were reported on the ground.
The airplane, described as a Grumman American AA-1B, hit two units of the apartment building. A fire that broke out was quickly extinguished.
