SALT LAKE COUNTY — A woman suffered serious injury in a crash involving a motorcycle on northbound I-15 near Point of the Mountain Saturday evening, slowing traffic in the area.
Utah Highway Patrol said a 56-year-old woman on a motorcycle collided with the back of a car after the vehicle in front of her slowed down suddenly. It is unclear why the vehicle slowed, but officials say it may have been due to traffic.
The woman was wearing a helmet, and she was taken to a hospital in serious condition. There were no other injuries reported.
FOX 13 News first heard report of the crash around 5:30 p.m. Northbound traffic was reduced to one lane for some time, but by about 6:30 p.m. three lanes were open in the area.
