ROY, Utah — An 11-year-old boy opened a lemonade stand in hopes of raising enough money to fly his birth mother and biological sister out to Utah for a visit.

Marcus and Monica Gilbert welcomed Christian into their Roy home 10 years ago when he was just 1 year old.

The couple says he’s curious about his birth mother and biological sister, and wants to fly them out from Alabama for a visit.

Christian thought of the lemonade stand himself, and has already raised about $200 in the past two days.

“This is only the beginning – he’s pretty determined,” said Monica Gilbert. So whatever he has to do, he’ll make sure he does it to bring them out here for a visit.”

The Gilberts say Christian will have another lemonade stand this Saturday.
