SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah – One family is out of their home and mourning the loss of their cats after a fire broke out at their home Friday Morning.
Officials say they got a call just after 1 a.m and responded to the fire after a woman was in her bathtub and smelt smoke.
She yelled to warn the others and called the Fire Department.
Two adults and a child were in the house at the time, all three escaped safely and called the fire department.
One dog made it of the burning home but two cats died in the fire and one is reported as missing.
Fire crews estimate the damages at $50,000 and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
