HYRUM, Utah -- A 30-year-old man has died after a tractor accident in Hyrum Tuesday evening, Cache County Sheriff's dispatch confirmed.
Wednesday, police identified the man as 33-year-old Javier Cruz.
The man had the power takeoff unit on the tractor driving a piece of equipment he was towing behind the machine.
Authorities say he was somehow pulled around the power shaft and suffered fatal injuries.
Officials said they do not know how the farmer got entangled in the machinery and are investigating.
