Dr. William Cimikoski, the medical director ofUtah Stem Cells Joint Treatment at Intermountain Health and Wellness explained the benefits of stem cell joint regeneration. He answered a few common questions about what he does.

Who do these procedures help?  Virtually anyone that is suffering from joint pain anywhere in the body including knees, shoulders, ankles, low back, neck, hips, etc can be helped by the treatment. Causes for joint pain include things like arthritis, degenerative joint or disk disease, tendinitis, sprains, strains, sciatica, bulging disks, and ligamentous laxity. I inject Stem Cells and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) into and around your joints and send in thousands of times more of the vital cells than what your body can deliver on its own.

Where do you get these Cells?  I get the PRP from your own blood by processing it in the clinic, and I get the stem cells from a bio engineering company that supplies me with Amniotic Stem Cells.

How long does the procedure last and what's the down time with this procedure? The procedure lasts about 45 minutes and there is essentially no real down time. You'll have a little discomfort for a day or two and pain medications are provided to help you though this period. But you'll still be able to walk out of the office right after the procedure. It's often nice to have a couple of days off from work to take it easy around the house in case you do have a little discomfort, but you will return to your baseline in about three days (if not sooner) and certainly would be able to return to work in a couple of days.
