SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz announced Thursday they have acquired guard Shelvin Mack from the Atlanta Hawks as part of a three-team trade also involving the Chicago Bulls.

According to the press release, the Jazz traded a future second-round pick to the Bulls, who also received guard Justin Holliday from Atlanta. The Bulls are sending guard Kirk Hinrich to the Hawks.

The press release states the trade is pending the outcome of a physical. The NBA trade deadline was Thursday at 3 p.m. Eastern (2 p.m. Mountain).

Mack was originally drafted in the second round, 34th overall, in 2011 by Washington. This season he has played in 24 games for Atlanta, where he averaged 3.9 points and 1.6 assists in an average 7.5 minutes of play.

In the course of his NBA career, Mack has played in 247 games with 14 starts spread across time with Washington, Philadelphia and Atlanta. He has a career average of 5.3 points, 2.7 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 15 minutes per game. He has also made 21 playoff appearances, where he averaged 5 points, 2 assists and 1.5 rebounds.

Mack previously played for Butler University, helping the Bulldogs to a Championship game in each of his final two seasons, according to the press release. Mack played with another current Jazz member during his time at Butler, as he and Gordon Hayward shared the court during Mack’s first two seasons at the school.

Mack and Hayward led the Bulldogs to the school’s first ever Final Four appearance and their first title game in 2010.
