PROVO, Utah — Quarterback Taysom Hill announced on Twitter Tuesday he would return to Brigham Young University for its 2016 football season.

Hill will seek a medical hardship waiver after he was sidelined last year in the first season game against Nebraska due to a foot injury. The Cougars went onto defeat the Cornhuskers, 33-28, with a Hail Mary touchdown.

Hill is the BYU career leader in quarterback rushing yards with 2,212 and 24 touchdowns, while passing for 4,606 yards and 31 touchdowns, according to a release from BYU sports officials.

“Taysom is a proven commodity and is a great leader for our football team,” said head coach Kalani Sitake. “We are thrilled to have him back for one more year.”
