Woman pulled into industrial mixer at Sandy grocery store suffers fatal injuries

SANDY, Utah — A woman suffered fatal injuries in Sandy Wednesday morning after she fell into an industrial mixer at a grocery store.

Sgt. Dean Carriger of the Sandy Police Department confirmed to FOX 13 News that 45-year-old Carmen Lindhardt was killed in the accident.

Carriger said the woman was working at a Ream’s Food Stores at 8725 East Highland Drive in the bakery division when she was pulled into the mixer. Carriger said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred Wednesday morning around 10 a.m.

It is not clear how exactly the woman came to be pulled into the industrial equipment. FOX 13 News will have more information as it becomes available.
