PLEASANT GROVE, Utah – Police have arrested a Taylorsville man after they said he tried to kill his ex-girlfriend last week at her home in Pleasant Grove.
Officers said Michael Alvillar got into a fight with the woman and refused to let her leave or call police for help.
Authorities said at one point Alvillar dragged the woman to the bedroom, held her down and tried to smother her with a pillow.
The woman was eventually able to escape and ran to a neighbor’s house to call for help.
Alvillar will face charges for attempted murder, aggravated kidnapping and theft.
