WILLARD, Utah — A man in Box Elder County was arrested Friday and is facing charges of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and forcible sexual abuse.

Police say while the man recently resigned from his position at a charter school, there is no evidence any of the criminal activity was associated with his position there.

According to a press release from the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Kasey John Cox was arrested Friday after police served a search warrant on a residence in Willard following an investigation involving the sexual abuse of a child.

Cox was booked into the Box Elder County Jail and faces three counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and three counts of forcible sexual abuse.

The suspect had recently resigned his position at Promontory Charter School in Perry. The release states: “There is no evidence at this time to indicate there was any criminal activity associated with his position at the school. This is an active investigation involving juvenile victims so no further information can be released at this time.”
